Hi, I’m Melissa Casburn.

I’m a surface pattern designer from Portland, Oregon. I describe my style as quirky maximalism, in love with graphic linework and bold colors. I’m inspired by Art Nouveau, city life, and the 1970s (sometimes all at once). My favorite mediums are watercolor, gouache, linocut, pen & ink, and digital illustration.

I hold a B.A. in Fashion Design, and a certificate in Surface Design from Otis College of Art & Design. I design for home decor, stationery & gifts, and apparel, and I’m comfortable working with creative briefs, tech packs, and indexed color.
